Please reach us at daysworkcharters@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We offer online booking directly on our website under the 'reserve now' section. We can also process your booking over the phone. Whichever way you choose to book, we just require a 10% deposit via credit card to reserve your trip date. Please reach out if you have any trouble with the booking process or questions along the way.
We always recommend booking with us once you have your desired fishing date in mind. Weekends and holidays during the summer months go quickly and are typically reserved at least one month ahead of time. Additionally, if you hope to fish with us while vacationing or visiting in the area, we recommend booking your trip at the time you book your travel and accommodations. We’re able to offer a bit more flexibility during weekdays and can often accommodate a small number of trips with shorter notice. Our online reservation system requires at least 48 hours notice, but give us a call if you need a last minute trip, we may be able to help.
By placing your trip deposit, you have reserved your chosen date. If you booked online, a member of our team will reach out to you via email 24-48 hours after booking to confirm the details with you and send you any important information pertaining to your charter.
As your trip date grows closer, within 1 week of your charter we'll reach out again to provide a fishing report, weather report, and to confirm your itinerary.
We've also compiled a 'one-pager' of charter information that can be viewed here. It'll let you know what to expect before, during, and after a trip when you fish with us. If you have any questions before your trip, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Cancellations Made by Guests:
We have a 14-day cancellation grace period should you need to cancel your trip. Cancellations made on or before 14 days of the scheduled departure date will have the 10% booking deposit refunded with no penalty to the original payment method.
Cancellations Due to Weather:
Weather can play a big factor in cancellations. We will always reschedule or fully refund a trip that cannot take place due to weather. Cancellations due to weather are made at the discretion of the captain around 24-36 hours before the scheduled departure time, but we always try to make these calls as early as possible once we have accurate weather reports.
Please see our full cancellation policy for further details.
Absolutely! Everything caught that falls within the state and federal regulations is yours to keep at the end of the trip and we’ll clean and filet it for you too. Certain species have size regulations that we must follow and most species have a limit on the number of fish you are allowed to keep. We are happy to go over any of these regulations with you at the time of booking your trip and/or when you board the vessel.
Yes! We are outfitted with the finest rods, reels, and tackle on the market for your use. We also provide fresh bait for each of our trips, all of which is included in your charter pricing. That being said, if you're an avid angler yourself and have a favorite rod or two to bring along, you are more than welcome to do so.
We have full confidence in our ability to find fish and assist you in getting them on the deck. That being said, it’s fishing not catching! On some days the weather, moon phases, tides, and sometimes just bad luck, can play a big role in what gets brought on the deck. It’s definitely uncommon, but sometimes the fish don’t bite. We will always do everything we are capable of (moving locations, different fishing methods, swapping bait/rigs), to help you land fish.
Please plan to wear clothing that you don't mind getting wet and/or dirty and can move around easily in. Ocean breezes can make things colder on the water, so dressing in layers is a smart option to remain comfortable throughout the day. If rain is forecasted during your trip, a rain jacket or foul weather gear are also great options to bring along.
Wear any shoes that are comfortable, but please avoid wearing shoes with dark soles and heels, they can damage and scuff the deck.
Days Work Charters will always have drinking water available for all guests, but if you prefer a different beverage you are welcome to bring your own. Alcohol is permitted but we ask that it is limited to beer only, no hard alcohol or distilled spirits are permitted (and no glass bottles please), please review our alcohol policy here.
It’s always a great idea to pack snacks for all trips, but for full-day and extended-day trips we also recommend packing a cold lunch or breakfast. We do not have a galley onboard and therefore cannot cook or heat food while on charter, plan to bring ready to eat foods.
If you plan to take fish home you should definitely bring a cooler. To keep the deck clear and leave you plenty of space to fish we ask that you limit the number of coolers brought onboard and if possible leave coolers in your vehicle to collect upon return from the trip.
If you need ice to transport your fish, bags can be purchased directly from Snug Harbor Marina upon return from the charter.
If you or a member of your charter group is prone to seasickness/motion sickness, or does not know how they will react to being on the water, we recommend taking an OTC medication to counteract it. Local pharmacies, gas stations, and grocery stores in our area carry several different brands. Typically these oral medications must be taken at least 1 hour prior to departure in order to be effective, but please consult medication packaging and/or a healthcare provider for specific instructions.
At the time of booking your charter, you placed a 10% deposit to reserve your trip. This deposit is deducted from your trip price and the remaining balance is due on the day of your charter. The remaining balance must be paid in cash; we are unable to process credit cards at the dock nor do we accept personal checks.
On a charter boat it is customary to tip the mate who assisted for the day 15-25% of the trip’s total cost (after all, they are handling most of the dirty work!). Tipping is not mandatory and should be done at your discretion based on the mate’s service during your trip. If you are planning to provide your mate with a tip you should tip them directly in cash at the conclusion of your charter.
Due to limited dry stowage space onboard we ask that each guest only bring one standard-sized backpack for personal belongings that they would like tucked away during the trip. Below are a few items that most charter guests find useful to have onboard:
